For employers
Financial stress comes to work. We’re building a better answer.
DIY Finance is a Financial Wellbeing support system for everyday working people — the people who keep organizations running. The app is launching soon, and we intend to offer it as an employer-sponsored benefit: sponsored memberships in the same honest app every Member gets. Nothing employer-side is built yet — founding partners will help design it.
Aggregate-only reporting, by covenantIndividual Member data — neverA financial coach, not an investment advisor
The problem, honestly cited
Money help isn’t reaching the people who do the work.
You’ve read benefits pages built on percentages nobody can trace. We print only the numbers we can source — here is what the research actually shows, with the source and year attached.
Why no “% of workers stressed about money” headline? We print a statistic only when we can name its source and year — and we hold vendor claims, including our own future ones, to the same standard.
What DIY Finance is
A real support system for your people. One Score, one Guide, one Journey.
The benefit we intend is simple: sponsored memberships in the same consumer app we’re building for everyone — launching soon. Three things live at its center.
The Financial Wellbeing Score
One honest 0–100 number for where a Member stands, built on seven factors of their real financial life. It won’t score on guesses: until enough is known, it says so instead of pretending.
The numberOrb, your financial Guide
A financial coach, not an investment advisor. Orb works from a Member’s real numbers and surfaces Your Next Best Step with the reason attached — and the choice always stays with the Member. It’s coded — not just instructed — never to give individual investment advice.
The GuideThe Journey
Priorities organized across phases at each Member’s own pace — honest milestones, no deadlines, no shame. Progress starts from a current position, never a verdict.
The planWhy this matters to an employer: the Score is engineered not to flatter. It can’t read “Strong” while high-interest debt is working against a Member — and it shows exactly what could lift it. A benefit built to refuse flattery for individuals is the design DNA any future aggregate reporting inherits.
DIY Finance is a financial coaching tool, not an investment advisor. Orb’s guidance is educational. For tax, investment, or legal advice, consult a licensed professional.

The difference
Not another content library.
Financial-wellness benefits have typically meant a library — articles, courses, calculators — that informs a person and then leaves them alone with the applying. Honest work, and not the same thing as help. Here is what we’re building instead, in plain words.
A Guide who works from real numbers
Not articles about budgets in general — Orb, coaching from a Member’s actual numbers, one explained step at a time. The Member always makes the call.
Progress a person can see
One honest Score with its reasons attached — engineered not to flatter — so a Member sees where they stand and what could lift it, instead of counting courses completed.
Built for the everyday household
Kitchen-table sentences, not seminar slides. Made for nurses, teachers, drivers, line cooks — people with real bills and real hopes.
Privacy as architecture, not policy
The covenant below isn’t a clause in a contract — it’s a constraint designed into the system from the start, and it binds anything employer-side we ever build.
The privacy covenant
“Employers never see individual Member data. Reporting, when it exists, will be aggregate-only with minimum group sizes.”
That is the covenant, verbatim — a design principle we commit to now, not a shipped dashboard.
Never a person’s numbers. Never a name.
Balances, Scores, goals, coaching conversations — and whether a given person participates at all. Enrollment is itself individual Member data. No sponsoring employer sees any of it, ever.
Counts, never names — designed with founding partners.
Aggregate counts with minimum group sizes and de-identified trends — never a group small enough to identify anyone. Founding partners help decide what gets built, always inside the covenant.
Countersigned where Members look: the same covenant faces Members on the Trust Center page. The promise to you and the promise to them are the same sentence.
The honest part
What we don’t have yet.
Employer-benefits pages usually stack proof. Ours can’t yet. Here is the missing list, in plain words.
Case studies
None. The app hasn’t launched. When we have outcomes, we’ll publish them with methodology.
Client logos
None. You’d be among the first — that’s the honest meaning of “founding partner.”
Independent certifications
Not yet. We’ll pursue them and publish the results when we have them. We won’t show badges we haven’t earned.
An employer product
Not built. Whatever we build will be designed with founding partners — inside the covenant.
If that list is disqualifying for your organization today, that’s a fair call — and this page will still be here, more filled in, when it isn’t. If being early is the point, read on.
Founding partnership
What “founding partner” actually means.
Not a program. Not a pilot with fine print. It means being early enough to shape the thing — and we say that plainly because it’s all that exists today.
Early access for your team
When the app launches, founding partners’ teams are among the first invited — the same honest app every Member gets, brought to your people as a sponsored benefit as the offering takes shape.
First through the doorShape the employer offering
Nothing employer-side is built yet. Founding partners sit with us while we design it — rollout, support, and what reporting should look like, always inside the covenant above.
A seat at the tableNo fees committed
There is no employer pricing, because there is no employer product. Founding-partner conversations carry no cost and no commitment — pricing, when it exists, will be worked out with founding partners in the open.
Nothing to signQuestions, answered plainly
The questions benefits leaders actually ask.
What does this cost?
There is no employer pricing, because there is no employer product yet. Founding-partner conversations carry no cost and no commitment. Consumer pricing gets published in plain language before launch, and employer pricing — when it exists — will be worked out with founding partners in the open.
When could our team actually use it?
The mobile app is launching soon, and founding partners’ teams are among the first invited. We don’t publish dates we can’t stand by — founding partners hear the timeline first, in plain words.
What would we see about our employees’ finances?
Nothing individual, ever. Balances, Scores, goals, coaching conversations — and even whether a specific person joined — are individual Member data. If reporting exists someday, it will be aggregate-only with minimum group sizes, and founding partners will help design it inside that covenant.
Is this financial advice?
No. DIY Finance is a financial coaching tool, not an investment advisor. Orb is coded — not just instructed — never to give individual investment advice. Members make every decision, and for tax, investment, or legal advice they’re pointed to licensed professionals.
How is employee data handled?
Bank connections are read-only through Plaid. Member data is never sold — not to advertisers, not to brokers, not to anyone. Members can export or delete everything, any time. The same commitments face Members on the Trust Center page.
Why trust a benefit with no case studies?
Don’t take it on faith — that’s exactly why nothing is asked of you today. When outcomes exist, we’ll publish them with methodology attached, and this page will fill in. Being a founding partner means watching that happen from the inside.
