DIY FinanceThese Terms of Service govern access to and use of DIY Finance websites, applications, content, and services. Registered Members are also governed by the Membership Agreement.
1. Eligibility and registration
You must be legally eligible to use the service. A registered account holder is a Member and must be at least 18 years old unless DIY Finance expressly offers a separate legally compliant experience for younger individuals.
Registration must use an affirmative acceptance flow that presents or links the applicable governing terms before account creation.
2. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to violate law; infringe rights; impersonate another person; interfere with security or availability; introduce malicious code; access another person’s account without authorization; scrape, reverse engineer, probe, or exploit the service except as permitted by law; misuse another Member’s information; or use the service for fraud, abuse, or unauthorized commercial activity.
3. Intellectual property
DIY Finance and its licensors retain rights in the service, software, designs, trademarks, content, and other protected materials. Subject to applicable terms, users receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
4. Third-party services
The service may depend on or link to third-party services. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. DIY Finance does not control or guarantee third-party availability, accuracy, security, or performance.
5. Service changes and availability
Features may be added, modified, suspended, or retired. DIY Finance does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Material changes affecting contractual rights will be communicated as required by law or applicable agreement.
6. Educational, automated, and financial-information features
General membership provides educational, informational, organizational, estimate, scenario, and guidance functionality and may use automated systems. Unless a separate written agreement expressly establishes a regulated professional relationship, general membership does not provide regulated professional advice.
7. Financial data and connections
Member-provided and third-party financial data may be incomplete, stale, estimated, duplicated, delayed, or unavailable. Users should review important information before relying on it.
8. Electronic communications
Registered Members are subject to the Electronic Communications Consent for electronic delivery of legally required records.
9. Fees and paid entitlements
Optional paid entitlements, including DIY Finance Live, are subject to applicable offer terms and the Paid Membership, Renewal & Cancellation Terms.
10. Suspension and termination
DIY Finance may restrict or terminate access as reasonably necessary to protect Members, systems, third parties, legal obligations, or enforce applicable terms. Members may close accounts subject to lawful retention and outstanding obligations.
11. Registered Members
For registered Members, the disclaimers, limitation-of-liability provisions, dispute-resolution process, governing-law provisions, severability provisions, and regulated-service carveouts in the Membership Agreement are incorporated here by reference and control to the extent applicable.
12. Public visitors
Individuals who access public DIY Finance content without creating a Member account are bound by the portions of these Terms that reasonably apply to public website use, including acceptable use, intellectual property, third-party services, and the following limitations.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PUBLIC CONTENT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT A GUARANTEE OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AVAILABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. PUBLIC CONTENT IS GENERAL INFORMATION AND DOES NOT CREATE A PROFESSIONAL OR ADVISORY RELATIONSHIP.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIY FINANCE WILL NOT BE LIABLE TO A PUBLIC VISITOR FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING SOLELY FROM USE OF PUBLIC WEBSITE CONTENT. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY OR RIGHTS THAT APPLICABLE LAW DOES NOT PERMIT TO BE LIMITED.
13. Governing terms and changes
The version and effective date of the terms accepted by a registered Member will be retained in DIY Finance’s records. Material changes will be handled as described in the Membership Agreement and applicable law.
