DIY Finance is designed as a digital service. This Electronic Communications Consent explains how legally required records may be provided electronically and the equipment and contact information you need to receive them.
1. Scope of consent
By affirmatively consenting during account registration or another applicable flow, you agree that DIY Finance may provide electronically agreements, disclosures, notices, confirmations, billing and renewal communications, privacy and security notices, membership changes, policy updates, dispute notices, and other records that may legally be provided electronically during your Member relationship.
Electronic delivery may occur by email, secure in-service notice, secure message, or another electronic method associated with your account where legally sufficient.
2. Hardware and software requirements
To access and retain electronic records, you need:
- an internet-connected computer, smartphone, or tablet;
- a currently supported web browser or supported DIY Finance application;
- a valid email account that you can access;
- software or device functionality capable of displaying HTML and PDF files when a record is provided in those formats; and
- sufficient electronic storage or access to a printer if you wish to retain a separate copy.
By consenting electronically after receiving this disclosure, you confirm that you can access and retain this disclosure in the format presented to you.
If these requirements materially change in a way that creates a material risk that you will no longer be able to access or retain required electronic records, DIY Finance will provide any notice and renewed consent required by applicable law.
3. Keeping contact information current
You must keep your email address and other required electronic contact information current. You may update contact information through your account settings or the Member Service Center.
A notice sent to the electronic contact information then associated with your account will be treated in accordance with applicable law even if you do not open it.
4. Paper copies
You may download or print electronically delivered records at no charge.
You may request a paper copy of a legally required electronic record through the Member Service Center. DIY Finance currently does not charge a fee for a paper copy of a legally required record. DIY Finance may change this policy prospectively if legally permitted and disclosed before a fee applies.
Routine paper statements and printed notices are not otherwise part of the standard general-membership service.
5. Withdrawal of consent
You may withdraw consent to electronic records through the Member Service Center or another withdrawal method made available in your account.
If electronic delivery is legally or operationally necessary to provide a particular digital service, withdrawal may result in limitation or termination of that service after required notice. Withdrawal does not affect the legal effectiveness of electronic records provided before the withdrawal became effective.
6. Changes to this consent
Material changes to this consent will be communicated electronically where required by law. DIY Finance will obtain renewed electronic consent where required.
7. Contact
You can exercise the rights described above through the Member Service Center, or by contacting legal@diyfinance.app.
